Then she takes a deep breath, and sets her shoulders, and makes herself sound strong.]

I've got to wonder if combining our abilities would let them reach further, but it's not an experiment I'm willing to try just yet.

Could everyone who's ended up with Admiral abilities check in, please? [She's kept track, of course, but that's no guarantee, she hasn't spoken to everyone directly.] I'd like to know what everyone's managed to do, and what their status is.

...Her, mostly. [Her cheeks heat, but she is totally not blushing, okay.] It's - pieces of her life, her personality, that I can keep close. Even if she's off fighting her butt off in another country, or I'm in a ridiculous interdimensional space ship.

[She keeps flipping, as she speaks. There are more news clippings, mostly variating on Black Canary Saves the Day. Some of the photos don't feature Dinah herself; there are motorcycles, cityscapes, beaches, movie posters. In between are pressed flowers, weapon schematics, winding lyrics.]

[She squints at Barbara, pondering this.]

You in love with her, or something?

[She's quiet, for a moment, before her lips twist into a rueful smile.]

Yeah. I never really - realised it, before coming here. But then -

We had a sort of...bodyswap, a few years back. On Valentine's Day. We turned into - or switched places with - our...significant others.

And, well, lo and behold.

What about Iris? Are you still in love with her too? Does she know you also love someone else?

[bodilesswarrior]

Of course. [Loving Iris has become akin to breathing, really.] But - well, you know how it is with her and Cain, right?

[tucky]

Yeah. I just never been with anyone like that myself, so it seems kinda strange to me. I ain't... I ain't judging, though.

Y'all never get jealous of each other?

[bodilesswarrior]

[She smiles, warm and fond.] Thanks for that. I'd never tried it before, either, but it's working out.

[She shakes her head.] I was - I didn't like it, at first, but that was - I didn't like him, for a long time. There's...history, there.

But the relationships themselves - they're different. We're not...competing with each other, because we give Iris different things. Like Dinah would for me.

If she comes here, are you gonna do a four-way thing?

[bodilesswarrior]

...Maybe. [She'll need to explain to Dinah that they don't need to beat the shit out of David Cain, first.]

There was - well, another flood. [A wry smirk.] They're great for revelations. Anyway - it showed us a potential future. Iris got to be a superhero.

How do you know what's potential and what's destiny?

[bodilesswarrior]

I don't.

I try not to invest too much in destiny, honestly. There's no way to see what's set in stone, so it's better to focus on our own choices.

[tucky]

I don't think about the future much. I didn't used to, anyway.

[bodilesswarrior]

...It's best to strike a balance, I think. Consider what you want for your future, how your actions affect it, but don't - obsess over it.

[tucky]

I can try that, only I don't know exactly what I want for my future.

[bodilesswarrior]

It's okay not to have all the details. Or to change your mind.

[A wry smile, as she gestures to her control centre.] I never expected this.

Are you mad about being in a wheelchair?

[bodilesswarrior]

...Not any more.

[She falls silent, for a moment, as she looks back at her computers.] I was angry as hell, for a while. Bitter. Depressed. Resentful.

[tucky]

What made you stop feeling like that?

[bodilesswarrior]

...Finding a new purpose. A new - identity. [All she needs to do is think, now, for her symbol to light the screen.] It gave me a foundation to rebuild on.

[tucky]

... I'd be mad, if I was you. I'd hate it, I think. You're stronger than me.

[bodilesswarrior]

[A wry smile.] I was mad as hell, Tiffany, and not just at the man who did this to me. I just - it got easier to feel other things, as time went on.

It helps to have the right people.

[tucky]

You ever thought about trying to get it fixed? With a deal or something.

[bodilesswarrior]

...Iris could do it. But she hasn't offered, because - [A slight shrug.] Some things she just knows.

My legs - it was a hard fight, to accept losing them. To become something new. And now...

[tucky]

It would feel weird to just go back.
