[Barbara is sitting in her wheelchair, hands folded in her lap as she smiles wryly at the camera.]

Hey there, Barge. You've got another Warden. My name is Barbara.

Nice to meet all of you.

[Her smile fades as she leans forward, just slightly.]

I know a lot of you aren't here by choice. If it were up to me – [she shakes her head] - but it's not. We're all working with what we have.

That's no reason not to take the chance now that you've got it. A lot of people don't. And I'm here to help with that, if you'll let me.

[She leans back again, arching her eyebrows.]

So – these headaches. Is this a normal thing around here?

((Hell yes she's affected.))

[She'd wondered, and that's the push that makes her ask, soft and sudden.]

She wasn't adopted, was she?

Were you? [That's a no; a somewhat antagonistic no; no one would let her pry about this Barbara, when she wanted information on hers - so she doesn't much appreciate the reverse.]

[After a moment, quietly...] Yes. When I was thirteen.

Jim Gordon was my uncle. [It feels so odd to call him that, now. He's been her father for so long.]

Yeah? [Her mother's dead; her father's a murderer in jail; she gets it; she doesn't want to.]

[Barbara nods.] I didn't lose them the way she did. If I had... [She shakes her head.] Pretty easy for me to imagine going some dark places. [Her lips curve, just slightly, into a sharply rueful smile; she's gotten pretty dark anyway, and she knows it.]

Lucky you. You coming?

[She arches an eyebrow at that, but lets it go; Faith is hurting like hell, it's not hard to see that. So she nods.]

I'll be there.

[The drink in front of Faith is pretty strong... but only by human standsards. She's not drinking to get drunk tonight. Just trying to steady the nerves.]

[It doesn't take Barbara all that long to find her way to the pub, though she makes a note to memorise the Barge's layout sooner rather than later.

Her eyes scan the room automatically before settling on Faith, and she wheels over with a quiet word.]

Hey.

[She met the other Barbara here too. She eyes the woman a moment.

Then slides over a pepsi.]

[Barbara smiles her thanks as she accepts it.]

Nice to meet you in person, Faith.

Sure thing...

[Barbara studies her as she opens the bottle. It's one of those ridged caps, but that doesn't seem to bother her; her hands are tough, calloused.]

So. Want to talk about it?

[About her. The woman Barbara could have been.]

Not much to say; Babs. [There's a light challenge, there; considering how little her Barbara liked being called that.] You got questions?

[This Barbara doesn't seem fazed by the nickname; quite a few people call her that, nowadays. It's all right with her if Faith is one of them.]

She was Batgirl?

Yeah; ruled Gotham.

[Her eyes go wide at that.] Ruled?

...Well, I can't say I've never been tempted.

[She could probably do it, with enough time and resources.]

Yeah; guess they must be missing her around now.
