[Not she; it would be easier, to think that way, but not particularly honest.]

Do you remember it all? [ It's a curiosity - she wasn't changed, and she hasn't been here long enough to know enough or what to expect. But how like other 'changes' was this? ] Everything from the other side, more than just the last few days? [ During the port where they'd had a 'pet' Helena had remembered it all - her entire life, a life more than just the few days that they'd been off the barge. Did that always happen when people were different? ]

It fades, usually. [Never entirely, though.] Might work differently, this time.

It had been the first time that it had happened to her, but she still remembered it - slightly ] I remember having them, having a feeling as to what they were, of what my life was, although the detail is gone. [ Would it still be gone if she tried to think on it? Helena never did - not wanting to remember how she had felt ]

[He actually has to repress a laugh, it comes out as a halfway-dignified snort.]

You can probably skip the first three quarters of it. Our lives aligned fairly well.
