20 - Audio - First Day of the Flood
[She has dreams, sometimes, of screeching laughter becoming ragged screams, of cold steel turning hot in her hands, of golden symbols draped in blood.
They don't follow her into the waking world; she opens her eyes and feels empty and bitter. She doesn't yearn to rend and tear, to feel life pour into her hands.
Today is different, and it only gets worse. Her heart is crowded with emotions that aren't her own, and slowly, the whispers in her head become distinct.
When she finally reaches for help, her voice is hoarse and heavy.]

I know. I wouldn't wish the early stages of adjustment on anyone. [It's easy to feel yourself getting lost, to feel confused and overwhelmed by the presence of so many thoughts almost to the point of where you're not sure where one ends and another begins, or where you fit into all of this.
