[Here is Barbara, looking distinctly irritated. There are dark circles under her eyes, and her hair is a mess. It's clear she's been paying far more attention to work than herself, and that she's in absolutely no mood.]

You know, it'd be nice if he got specific for once. "A problem". What kind of problem? What glitch, exactly, makes people able to communicate with us across time and space? Why can't we do this on a regular basis?

[Her voice is just dripping with disdain, now.] Should I even assume he knows?

[She takes a moment, reigns in the jagged aggravation.]

Any of you looking for answers - I'm sorry, but I can't give you any. I don't know why you can communicate with us. I don't know how it works. I don't know if you'll even remember this later.

We're a cross-dimensional rehabilitation facility. Our Admiral is staggeringly incompetent.

She could tell herself it's because of the whip-quick analysis her mind is constantly doing - first and foremost, the Bruce here wouldn't bother with the voice.

[She hesitates, then - which she knows gives away, automatically, that there's something else, something important, so she might as well spill.]

Bruce's expression doesn't so much as twitch away from its stoic neutrality. But Barbara knows him too well to take that at-- well, at face value.]

Hn. Be careful.

[She will be. But Bruce knows damn well how hard he'd be to stop if he ever crossed that line, and-- what it would take to do so.]
