I saw him when we got out of Zero a few days before everything collapsed in on itself. He was going to do more investigating.

Fuck. I should've made him take me with him.

[Firmly.] This isn't your fault. Rorschach is a grown man and a capable vigilante.

He's a stupid jackass who makes enemies for no reason.

Well, yeah, that too. But he can handle himself.

No, he can't. He thinks he's superhuman but he's not, he's going to get hurt, I already fucking saw him die once.

[Barbara's silent, for a moment, and then, quietly - ]

Yeah. I know the type.

[She forges on.]

But he's still far from helpless. If he's in a situation, there's a good chance he can hold out until we get there.

And from what I've seen, the man is nothing if not resilient.

It's been four days, Barbara. They stop looking for living kids after three.

Where have you looked so far?

Then she's straight back to business.]
